Ultra Movement

This project examines the rituals and behaviors of football Ultras and hooligans, focusing on the collective patterns that unite them. From choreographed fights and synchronized chanting to fireworks and the walk to the stadium, these moments reinforce a deep sense of belonging. By mapping these recurring actions, the project explores how Ultras forge community through shared experience and ritual.

OVER TIME

Football reflects the currents of human history, adapting and reacting to pivotal moments that define societies. “OVER TIME” examines the sport as a lens through which we see cultural, political, and economic transformations. From the colonial legacies shaping its global spread to the impacts of migration, racial struggles, and commercialization, this project uncovers how football evolves alongside humanity.

If I Didn’t Love Football,
I’d Fucking Hate Football

This project explores the dual nature of football: the unifying passion it evokes and the darker realities it often conceals. As a devoted fan, the 2022 World Cup posed a moral conflict for me. While celebrating the sport I love, I couldn’t ignore the troubling questions surrounding human rights and exploitation behind the scenes.

Through visual storytelling, I juxtapose the glamour of the game with its hidden costs, such as the lives of migrant workers. By generating a frame for every worker lost, this project humanizes the unseen sacrifices tied to football's grandest stage, encouraging viewers to reflect on the sport's contradictions and their role as spectators.

Skin Deep

The FBI is using AI to track tattoos and identify suspects, feeding it over 15,000 images of inmates, often including deeply personal details like names, faces, and birthdates. This raises ethical concerns about using prisoners as test subjects and whether tattoos, often tied to identity and culture, can fairly represent a person.

I wanted to test what this AI system might see, so I built my own tattoo generator to explore how difficult it is to differentiate tattoos. The project investigates the line between art and criminality—when is a tattoo seen as criminal? By generating and analyzing mixed tattoo styles, this work challenges stereotypes, exposes biases in AI, and questions the reliability of such systems in law enforcement.
